UN Summit on Social Reform Ariel Foundation International
Global AFI Changemakers were invited to participate in the Summit on ‘Right to Health & Access to Medicine’. Changemakers also participated in the 2015 UN Social Forum on Access to Medicines, and council meetings along with representatives from member states, intergovernmental organisations and civil society. AFI Changemakers presented at a side event on the Right to Health that was attended by members of the UN, member states, NGO and others. the 1st and 2nd of December 2014, youth representatives from around the
world met in Geneva at the Palais Des Nations to tackle the most
important issues for their generations’ future. They participated
in intense workshops at the United Nations on themes related to the
Right to Development. Outcomes of workshops were fedback at a
high level official UN event. The outcomes of the Summit provided a
framework for the Changemakers platform to contribute to work of UN in
2015. Summit participants became Changemaker Ambassadors, leaving
Geneva inspired and with opportunities to get involved longer term with

II. Side Events at the United Nations
Ariel Foundation organizes, sponsors and hosts many side events at the United Nations. Among the recent events was Children and Youth Human Rights In Development, 27th Session of the Human Rights Council, Friday, 12 September 2014, United Nations, Geneva, Switzerland
and Protecting and Safeguarding the Human Rights of Children June 11, 2014 UN 26th Session of the Human Rights Council -- Side Event. At the United Nations 26th Session of the Human Right Council, a side event, Protecting and Safeguarding the Human Rights of Children was sponsored by the Ariel Foundation International (AFI) & Ariana-Leilani Children’s Foundation, and the Inter-African Committee. Speakers included UNICEF, World YWCA, The Permanent Mission of Nigeria, WURN, and I am SAM Foundation, Family Care and Development International, and Make Mothers Matter. AFI /ALCFI was represented by Amin Khosvari who gave a presentation on children and violence.

UN Human Rights of the Older Persons: Solidarity Between Generations 1st April 2014 Palais Des Nations, Geneva. On April 1, 2014, AFI organized a side event to the Human Rights Council Forum at the UN in Geneva. The side event focused on the Human Rights of the Older Persons. It featured opening remarks by Ms. Mónica Roqué, Chairperson of the Social Forum, followed by remarks by distinguished guests Ms. Navi Pillay, High Commissioner for Human Rights and Mr. Baudelaire Ndong Ella, President of the Human Rights Council. III. Technology and Arts Camps
Ariel Foundation International has
held technology and arts camps in countries such as Morocco, and
Botswana for children and teenagers. They learned how to
use and apply computers and to use them to create art.

V. Readers Lead and Leaders Read
Collects donated books (children's books, academic books, dictionaries, medical, public health, law) and school supplies are collected and given to school children, specialty libraries, and national libraries for developing countries.
Gently used and new clothes, shoes, blankets, toys and school supplies are collected and then brought to the country for the orphan and vulnerable children.
VII. Orphan and Vulnerable Children (OVC)
Raises funds for children and young people who are currently in fiscally responsible community based programs.
VIII. Women Entrepreneurs (WE)
Hand made crafts from women who are supporting themselves and orphaned children. Their handicrafts are sold and all (100%) the sale proceeds go directly back to the women who produced the crafts. Currently the crafts are sold at shows, conferences and meetings. An online market will be developed for these projects.

X. International Health Ambassadors (IHA)
International Health Ambassadors are provided with scholarships to participants, who are focused in medicine, allied health, international health, public health, health management, health policy, and to participate in direct humanitarian programs in developing countries.
