In November 2015, AFI Changemakers held their first event at the UK Parliament in London. The event was held as part of a nation wide initiative called Parliament Week, which aims to promote democratic engagement throughout the UK. The AFI Changemakers event was chaired by Henry Gilliver and Emma Robinson in Portcullis House, and focused on issues pertaining to international development and human rights. Issues discussed included gender based violence, the UK’s response to the ongoing Syrian refugee crisis, the Israel-Palestine conflict, and the relationship between multinational organisations and human rights. Reports from this event are currently being written, and will be uploaded to the official publications page soon.
